Dougherty & Associates has developed a unique and comprehensive inventory to clarify and prioritize one’s values. Values are the key to understanding the meaning and purpose an individual has in his/her life. We are not born with values. We learn our values by interacting with our environment and the people and experiences we come in contact with. Values differ from one person to another, and at time, are often at differing priorities, - even in the same family. When we know our values we can better resolve conflicts, set goals, make decisions, and live a more meaningful and balanced life. This instrument is key to achieving WORK/LIFE balance, understanding differences, and embracing diversity.
THE INSTRUMENT The Values Assessment Profile consists of 18 open-ended questions that are designed to document and validate actions and decisions one has made in life, trigger the creative processes of one’s wants and needs, create personal definitions for values, and prioritize values for achieving value fulfillment. The information can then be used to set goals, develop a personal mission, and develop a plan of action to guide future decisions.
The Values assessment interest characterizes an individual’s values with six different scales of performance to show the relationship of values to an individual’s behavior. The instrument gives an individual a profile to consider what is important and what one does to achieve success.
